Progress Of A Modern PilgrimSample
Jesus knew that the Samaritan woman would be at the well at the most terrible hour of the day to do any work. He knew that she had a need and He had the answer to that need.
Jesus could have talked theology, prophecy, the four spiritual laws or what He had just heard at the synagogue. Instead He talked about what was in her hand.
God asked Moses “What is in your hand?”. He asked David “What do you have to fight the giant with?”. He asks you and He asks me “What do you have that could speak into people’s lives.
I have a book and a job that is on film and TV sets and locations. I use the book to interest people. It talks about North Korea, meeting famous people, working in film and TV, my spiritual journey and many other items of interest. But it is like a pitcher of water – it is a starting point!
FROM my book PROGRESS OF A MODERN PILGRIM...
"I was chatting with everyone that I could and sharing with them about how beautiful the different aspects of the synagogue were. The eternal light as a picture of God’s eternal presence. The central podium or, as it is called, the bema is what is talked about when the New Testament refers to the bema seat or judgment seat of Christ. In some of the older Jews present, my words seemed to bring back memories of things that they had been taught in their youth. Within the ark stood the scrolls – the Word of God. They are touched only with a silver utensil so as not to desecrate it or stain it, as they are made with animal skins. In the course of a couple of days of filming, I was able to chat with probably about 100 Jews. Of those I had in-depth discussions with about twenty. Towards the end of the first day, a man who, obviously, had been listening in on my discussions with others, came up to me.
‘I am a Jew and I believe in Jesus.’"
