The Good News In 10 DaysSample
Day 3
One-Minute Devotion
One Thought, One Prayer, One Scripture
The good news is that God’s grace is always greater than our sin!
Someone has said that justice is getting what you deserve. Mercy is not getting what you deserve and grace is getting what you don’t deserve. Justice would put a millstone around our necks and cast us into the ocean. That’s what we deserved. But instead of justice we received mercy and grace. Grace gave us what we desperately needed but did not deserve—forgiveness. Rather than casting us out on the scrap heap of life, the Lord gives us another chance.
What is the worst thing you ever did? What is the one thing you hope no one ever discovers about you? Whatever it is—God’s grace is greater still. God doesn’t want to punish you. He doesn’t want to reject you. More than anything, He wants to hear your confession, forgive your most grievous transgression, and give you another chance. No matter what you’ve done. No matter how insidious your sin, God’s grace is greater still.
Lord Jesus, continue to remind me that Your grace is greater than my sin lest I despair. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
