How God Wins

You may think you’re wrapping this up, but you’re just getting started. You’ve learned about how to belong together with vision and purpose to grow as friends. But it’s one thing to learn about it and another thing to live it. Don’t worry. You’re in this together, and you’re well equipped.

You already have the most powerful tool you need to live out your friendships. And you’re going to need it—a lot. The good news is that it’s always with you, so you won’t forget to bring it to group. It’s your story.

How will you use your story? Well, John, one of the Bible’s authors, was given some inside information about some of God’s plans and how God works in the world. Revelation is the book where he recorded everything God showed him. Some of it is mind-blowing. Chapter 12 is no exception. In verses 10-11, John wrote about how God defeats our enemy, Satan, through two things. First, Jesus. Second, the power of our testimonies, which is just another word for stories.

That is revelation.

When you share your story, both the ups and downs, God wins. He wins by building your faith as you hear yourself share everything He’s brought you through. He wins by encouraging others in your group who may be facing something similar. He wins by exposing the cheap, dead-end tactics of the enemy. It’s simple: You tell it. God uses it. Now go do it.
