Peace Surrounded by Chaos

Day Four – ACTION: Accept the Promise
I would hate to think that I would not accept God’s assurances during my times of chaos, when He is assuring me of His protection. But that is what I do when I keep my eyes on a threat instead of listening to His assurances. I am reminded of my 4-year-old grandson who I took to his favorite fast food restaurant. They were having a special fund-raising time and therefore had a very tall man dressed in a cow costume. Altogether this costumed figure was about seven feet tall, little wonder that my little man was frightened out of his mind with the thought of going into the restaurant. No matter what words I gave him. No matter how I assured him the cow was not real and no threat to him. No matter how I tried to persuade him for his own benefit to trust me, I could not get him to take his eyes off the “monster.” Even when we left the restaurant to go elsewhere, I could not get his attention, for his eyes were locked on the creature that he was afraid would follow him. Do you do the same?
How often do you allow a “monster” in the chaos of your life to lock your gaze on him or it, instead of accepting the assurance of God. He has this threat to you in His hands, and He will work it out so that it turns out for good? To accept this promise, so that, you will find peace in your chaos, and it will not invade your sanctuary, you must turn your gaze from the “monster” to your King. Then, listen for His voice and promises that all will be well, rather than the voice of the monster.

About this Plan

On our journey with Christ, oftentimes we are tested and tried with life circumstances and what seems to be a "sea of chaos". In the midst of this, a peace that is beyond understanding is available to those who know the secret.
