I Serve A Savior: A 12-Day Devotional By Josh TurnerSample

Doxology
*An excerpt from Man Stuff, p.170
“Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.” James 1:17
In my music and interviews, I really try to talk about the good childhood I had. I try to talk about where I came from, my upbringing, and my faith – and I use personal keepsakes to help me tell my story. Jennifer thinks I’m a hoarder because I keep so much stuff. But I’m one who believes that stuff matters: it’s evidence of the good, and I cherish it all. As Phil Robertson says, “Score one for the hoarders.”
I draw inspiration from the stuff of my life. My music and songs come from the good memories my stuff triggers and the life lessons I’ve learned along the way from family and friends and God. All that stuff is at the heart of my music, the source from which creativity flows.
