Good news!
Dive right into the Bible reading today to hear the very best news. Find the words the angel said to the shepherds, who were out on the hillside at night, looking after the sheep.
Read Luke, chapter 2, verses 8 to 10, if you haven’t already done so.
What would an angel voice sound like? Say the words aloud, pretending to be an angel!
The angel told the shepherds where to find the baby, Jesus, before they asked.
Now read Luke, chapter 2, verses 11 and 12.
How strange it must have been for the shepherds! An angel from God appeared in the middle of the night and frightened them. They heard amazing news – and then they were told to go and find a baby, lying in an animals’ feed box!
Pretend you were one of those shepherds. How do you think you would have felt? Draw or write what you might have been thinking.
Pray. Thank Jesus that he is the good news.

About this Plan
This three day plan takes Ancora Kids to a hillside near Bethlehem where they find some shepherds looking after their sheep. In Bible times, shepherds were not always trusted or seen as important.
