Jesus died for you, but He didn’t die just for you. It’s your job to spread the word that God’s sent a rescuer so no one else has to spend eternity separated from God either.
Of course, they won’t believe a word you say if your life doesn’t prove you’ve been rescued, if there’s no change in you. That doesn’t mean you should stay silent; it means you should get your act together with the Holy Spirit’s help and start living the life God wants you to live.
Your efforts will be for His glory, of course. That’s only right! But you’ll get plenty out of it, too. Nothing will make you feel closer to God than joining Him in His plan to rescue people from their sin.
