Renewing the Mind
We all want to see changes. We pray for many things in our life, such as finance, marriage, family, and even our future because we want to see something is changed. Jesus teaches us that a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. It means, our condition today (the fruit of our life) is defined by the condition of our heart and mind.
The word “repent” in the Bible is based on the word “metanoia” which means, a change of mind. Changes will take place when we completely walk away from our old ways of thinking, and put on the new ways of thinking as a new person who has been redeemed by God. God is inviting us to see our circumstances and challenges from His perspective, so we can discover a solution instead of feeling trapped by what we see.
Christianity is about living a life that is constantly dynamic and it requires a renewed mind to be relevant and to give the right responses to our surroundings. Do not follow the pattern of this world, but be transformed by renewing our mind so we can learn to know God’s will, overcome any challenge that comes our way, and glorify His name.
Pray
God, I want to see changes happen in my life. Holy Spirit, help me to renew my mind every single day and give me new perspective. I want to know You more through Your Word. Help me to see what You see and renew the way I think.
