Relationships RestoredSample
A revelation of the nature of God’s kingdom looks like this: restored relationships that acknowledge the deep value and dignity of every person, freeing people from injustice and seeing them flourish, expressing their identity as God’s image bearers.
To live out God’s restoration story, we should challenge the worldly tendency to treat others as lower or less capable than ourselves. We should also cling to biblical values, being servant-hearted, truthful, courageous, compassionate and Christ-centric. This means regarding and treating others as equal in worth, dignity and potential; and allowing the Spirit to reveal Christ through us. If we can pursue these qualities, then we are beginning to reveal the kingdom of God in the world around us.
As we play our part in this restoration story, we join the vision of people released to live life the way God intended. What part will you play in this story?
Reflect:
In what areas of your life is God most prompting you to seek justice for others and help restore relationships? Are there some ways in which you recognise you may judge or distance yourself from people who are different from you?
Pray:
Thank you Lord for making me in your image. Help me to see myself and others as your unique image bearers. Open my heart to listen to your Holy Spirit and treat every individual as loved by you, regardless of how similar or different they are to me. Amen
