In both kingdoms, several great prophets are being prepared by God: Isaiah, Joel and Amos in the Southern Kingdom; Jonah and Hosea in the Northern Kingdom. In 808 BC the prophet Joel, during a drought with hordes of locusts, foresees the coming ‘Day of the Lord’ and calls for repentance.
