Wisdom Of The Teacher For College Students, Ch. 5.Sample
The Teacher continues with the ideas related to proper worship in these verses. Have you considered what you promise to God to be a vow that must be paid? When you are moved by that message and tell your friends what you are going to do for God, did you consider the cost?
We are reminded in these verses that a promise to God is a serious matter. To fail to fulfill our vows is a sin! We are told that it is better to not promise God anything than to not pay off what we promise Him we will give!
Rather than committing and then making excuses, we should really contemplate what we say we will do for the Father. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t promise God anything. We should just make sure we are willing to pay the cost for making that promise to be fulfilled. Think before you speak, even in our hearts!
The last verse is very difficult for even scholars to understand. It seems to imply that those who rely on dreams in worship tend to speak many vain words but do not really fear the Lord. It seems best that we stay away from that kind of religious expression!

About this Plan
The wisdom of the Teacher continues in this chapter which addresses both worship that is true and genuine and worship of wealth. Those are both issues that are contemporary and still cause issues among believers today.
