Word on the Street - IISample

Throughout world history, nations have been embroiled in all kinds of political intrigues, scheming and power-mongering, Even in our present age, we can become political evangelists who put our hope in political messiahs to save us.
In these times, Daniel is a glorious celebration of God’s sovereignty and authority over history, nations, kings, rulers and empires—lifting up and bringing down rulers, according to His will. It is both a warning that all earthly kingdoms have an expiration date and a promise that God's true Messiah will establish His true, good, beautiful, and eternal kingdom on earth.
There is a beautiful unity and continuity between the Old and New Testaments. The message of Daniel is unread and incomplete until we follow its leading and marry its message to the fulfillment of God's revelation in the person, work, teaching of Jesus Christ as revealed in the New Testament. Each reading from Daniel is paired with at least one passage from the New Testament that illustrates this fulfillment, unity and continuity.
