Five Traits of a Courageous Leader – Part III
In this series we’re examining the five traits of a courageous leader as modeled by the prophet, Daniel. When commanded to eat meat and drink wine that had been sacrificed to other gods, Daniel said “no,” but said it carefully.
The third trait Daniel modeled was, “To Gain Understanding.” Daniel realized his decision could dramatically impact others. He was wise enough to know he needed to understand fully the circumstances and possible consequences of his decision.
Psalm 119:34 teaches, “Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law And keep it with all my heart.”
Daniel researched and listened how his decision would impact others, and tomorrow we’ll see how he adjusted accordingly. If you’re in a situation that requires courage, gain understanding of all the circumstances and consequences, before moving forward.
