God loves us and wants what’s best for us. He can’t stand to see us hurt or to see us hurt others. That’s why God gives us rules to live by. God rules aren’t there to keep us from having fun.
His desire for us is that we will love God and love others well.
Look at the 10 Commandments. The first four commandments are all about loving God. The next six show us how to love others. God’s guidelines teach us to love God and love others. By following God’s guidelines, we have an opportunity to show the love of God to those around us through the way we behave and treat others. We have the opportunity to introduce others to a better way to live. Think about how much would change in our world if people knew God’s guidelines and actually lived by them! A lot of the bad stuff we see around us would get so much better.
Where have you stepped outside of God’s guidelines? Take a minute and tell God, “sorry”. Ask Him for the strength and wisdom to get it right next time.
Maybe you’ve done something that’s hurt someone else. If that’s the case, reach out and tell them sorry.
About this Plan
Moses lived a crazy life. From taking a ride down a river in a basket, talking to God in a burning bush, standing up to Pharaoh, and leading a bunch of hungry, angry people in the wilderness, he went through a lot! The Crazy Life of Moses was created by the Student Ministry of LCBC Church to help students look at five different things they can learn from Moses.
