Let Me Introduce You To Jesus

DAY 2 OF 9

Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.

Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he

live, and everyone who lives and believes in me

shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Jesus’s close friend Lazarus had died too young. Lazarus’s sisters, Mary and Martha, were heartbroken with grief.

If it had been us, we might have said, “I am so sorry” and prayed with them, but not Jesus. He makes the stunning statement:

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in

me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and

believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

I am the resurrection and the life. Not, “I have resurrection and life.” Not, “I can find resurrection and life.” Not, “I can give resurrection and life.” But, “I am the resurrection and the life.” In other words: “I embody resurrection and life. Resurrection and life are found in me. If you want resurrection, if you want life, physical life, spiritual life, any kind of life, here it is. I am the resurrection and the life.”

By the way, who talks this way? Who in history talked this way? Do great religious teachers talk this way? No. Someone who talks this way is either a lunatic or the Lord of glory.

If Jesus embodies resurrection and life, the obvious question is: How do I get that resurrection and life? He tells us. And it is so simple. So simple that sophisticated, I-can-do-it-myself types miss it. How do you get it? “Believe in me.” That’s it. Believe in Jesus. Trust Jesus. Put all your hope in Jesus.

If you do that, Jesus says, though you die (physically), you will live (spiritually). Moreover, everyone who lives (physically) and believes in Jesus shall never die (spiritually).

Jesus conquers death. Jesus crushes death because Jesus is the resurrection and the life. At some point, Jesus says to Martha, “Do you believe this?” That is exactly the question he asks you now: “Do you believe this?”

There is no more important question.

About this Plan

Let Me Introduce You To Jesus

Have you heard about Jesus? What does he mean for you? In this plan, you will discover what was revealed to the Apostle John about Jesus Christ. John was one of the closest persons to Jesus. He was his beloved disciple. Therefore, he definitely can tell us more about Jesus than many others. Let me introduce you to Jesus as he is shown in the Book of John.
