God Encounters

DAY 5 OF 6

Three Ways God Encounters can be Wasted

Every time someone had an encounter with God, he was ruined for the natural!

That's why the devil is out to steal your God encounters and he does that NUMBER 1, by sowing seeds of distraction, offense, and pride. If only he can distract you and take you off focus or steal your time with God, if only he can stop you from coming to church and hearing God's Word by offending you, his job is done!

That's why you need to guard your God encounters, and you do that by guarding your heart and time (Proverbs 4:23).

Let us focus on pleasing the heart of God more than pleasing our false pride. God requires us to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him. (Micah 6:8).

NUMBER 2, God encounters can be ‘wasted’ when not followed by the pursuit of God.

What we don't steward, we lose. And you steward your God encounters by spending more time with Jesus. Our daily devotion is where the fire of the Holy Spirit is ignited and that fire burns until the plans and purposes come to fruition.

NUMBER 3, God encounters can be ‘wasted’ when there is no action.

The devil has no problem as long as we are church-going-Christians, hearing sermons and getting prayed over. But when you and I start acting upon what God is saying, he knows his kingdom is in trouble.

When God speaks to us in the form of visions, prophetic words, pictures – whether tangible or intangible, it is not for us to boast, but to catch hold of God’s heart and walk in the direction He is leading us.

When Paul had an encounter with Jesus, he did not run to any man, but he isolated himself in the desert for three years, and he came back with the revelation of the Gospel of Grace (Galatians 1:15-18).

What was he doing in these three years?

Surely, he must be spending his time digging deep in the Word, praying in tongues, talking to the Holy Spirit and building his spirit.

God wants us to launch out into the deep. We must pursue the things that have been revealed to us (Deuteronomy 29:29). He has revealed his Word - we must believe and take what is ours in Christ Jesus!

Let's be good stewards of our God encounters, and that's the surest way that you and I will have them more!

Ponder Point

1. Is praying, worshiping, meditating of the Word, praying in tongues a part of your daily routine or reserved for Sunday Church alone?

2. What action did we take with the last prophecy spoken over our life?
