All About Releasing CreativitySample
PROCESS
Creativity is a process. It is intentional and it does not happen overnight. Seldom things in life do.
1. Creative Initiative – Making Time for Creativity: If we don’t understand the power and dominion in creativity, then we don’t make time for it – because it’s not a priority. Creativity should be a priority because it is a huge part of shining our light. We often think of shining our light as only doing good deeds or miraculous supernatural acts, deeds of righteousness like witnessing, giving to the poor, singing or praying. Of course these are an important part of shining our light, but the literal definition is much more broad and applies more to real life and creativity.
Your work, your industry, your art, your deeds are what shine for the LORD. When we understand the value of our creativity we live as wise and make time for it.
How do you “Make” time?
· Prioritize creativity as an act of righteousness
· Begin something
· Expect exponential increase off of your creativity
· Set your mind on things above
2. Creative Communion – Connecting with God Through Creativity: Creativity is meant to be a source of divine union and communion. We can create through His creative nature but even someone who is not a Christian can do that. What are the creative benefits of knowing you are a son or daughter of God? I believe it is the ability to abide in Him. Abiding in Him and enjoying Him is not only the key to a happy life it is also the key to accessing the genius of heaven. It is not only the key to creating something but for bearing much! Practice communing while you create. Tap the divine nature and divine presence through the art of abiding in Him.
3. Creative Flow – Go Where the Grace Is: Grace helps me work. Go where the grace is. 1 Corinthians 15:10 says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” See, the thing is, creativity is not always linear. You can’t always write a book starting with chapter 1, sometimes you have to start at chapter 7 and work your way back. You learn to go where the grace is and if there doesn’t seem to be grace any where then refine what you have already created for there is almost always grace to refine.
4. Creative Closure – Warfare Over Finishing: Finish things with excellence but it also takes humility to finish. It is a risk of faith. Overcome fear of looking stupid. Overcome perfectionism with integrity of resources. I believe the warfare over finishing has to do with the authority, influence, and favor in a finished creative act! Finishing also has an exponential effect on your capacity. It opens up more room then it occupies because you grown in the act of creating. You can draw upon HIS divine nature to finish. He is an author not just a finisher. Relate to Him not only as creator/starter but finisher.
You are created because someone else was creative.
