For This ReasonSample

For this reason, HE...
It’s important to check our motives from time to time. In the midst of living and doing all of the, “whats” of life, it’s easy to forget about the, “whys.” And the why is usually the reason we even start something in the first place.
Why do you start college? To pursue a certain career path.
Why did you ask her out? Because she was attractive, inside and out.
Why did you say, “No,” when he asked you out? Because he was NOT attractive inside and out...
See? The why matters.
Even Jesus kept the why in front of Him. Hebrews 12:2 says that Jesus despised the cross, but He went willingly to it anyways. Why? The verse tells us it was because of the joy that was ahead of Him.
What joy did Jesus see on the other side of the cross?
You and me.
A kingdom without corruption or end, made up of a bunch of not-good-enough-misfits.
Jesus endured His hardest trial, by looking at the reason He had to go through it. When He considered the pain and shame of the cross, He decided that the joy of bringing you into His family was worth it.
You are His why.
So, why not live for Him?
QUESTIONS:
1. REFLECT: Are there any habits or behaviors in your life that have been born out of a negative, “why?”
2. APPLY: Think back on why you are on the path that you are currently on. Is the, “why,” still important enough to keep you on this path?
3. PRAY: Jesus, thank You for considering me worth the pain of the cross. Empower me today to live in a way that is worthy of Your sacrifice. Amen.
