Those Who Are WiseSample
The Fear of The Lord.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 KJV
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for “Fear” is, ‘yir'ah’ (H3374) which means, “Fear (of God), respect, reverence or piety.” Choose to fear God. Reverence and honor God in every aspect of your life. Let God build your character through your submission to Him. As God pours into you let Him lead your heart and direct the work of your hands.
When you respect and honor God and recognize God as your Ultimate Authority, you’ll begin to reflect His Heart and Character. The fear, respect, honor and reverence of the Lord is the beginning and the starting point. It is difficult to receive advice or counsel from someone you do not respect. Offense hardens your heart and blocks you from receiving life-transforming wise counsel.
When you are offended or your heart is hardened, it is challenging for wisdom to penetrate the ground of your heart. Jeremiah 4:3 KJV states, “....Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” When your heart is hardened or is filled with thorns of offense, it becomes difficult for good advice to penetrate the ground of your heart.
Even if you are offended with God — His Word, Counsel and Advice may be difficult to receive. Choose to pluck up offense and let God’s Word clear the thorns from the ground of your heart.
Prayer:
Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I surrender my heart to You. Father, clear the thorns from the ground of my heart. Father, soften my Heart. Father, lead my heart. Father, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to die for my sins.
Offense and sin does not have to keep me bound. I thank You, Father, for the Blood of Jesus. In Christ I am set free. By the Blood of Jesus Christ my sins are washed away, my heart is made new. I am made white as snow. Because of Christ my heart is soft, my hands are clean and I am ready to receive from You.
Father, I will treasure Your Word and Your Counsel in my life. Father, I love You. Father, I choose to trust You. Father, I repent and turn to You forever. In Jesus Name. Amen.
