Word And SpiritSample

DAY THREE: Can You Have the Spirit Without the Word?
There is a sense in which the essence of God is truth. To me, the truth about God and the truth of God and the truth from God are among the most dazzling things about God. This is why He has “magnified” His Word above all!
Even in their weakened condition, the Galatians had a measure of truth. The issue? The Gospel. It often is. Paul was alarmed at what was happening to his converts at Galatia. But it is worth noting that Paul does not question their conversions.
Some today may say that if the Galatians’ conversions were genuine, they would not have been so influenced by false teaching. Quite the contrary; Paul does all he can to sort them out lest they be demoralized and disillusioned. The reason for Paul’s letters is because all converts need teaching and often warning.
Saved people can have the Holy Spirit but not necessarily possess a high level of truth. This is why Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”
Although these Galatians were saved, they had become vulnerable to heresy.
