Living Changed: Lectio Divina

DAY 5 OF 5

Take a couple moments to allow yourself time to settle into this moment and become fully present.

1. Lectio (Read) | 2. Meditatio (Reflect) | 3. Oratio (Respond) | 4. Contemplatio (Rest)

Practice the Lectio Divina:

Read (Lectio)

Begin by reading this scripture. Listen for a word or phrase that feels significant right now, it may be capturing your attention even if you don’t know why. Gently repeat this word or phrase to yourself a couple of times.

Psalms 62:6-8 TPT - "For he alone is my safe place. His wrap-around presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me? God’s glory is all around me! His wrap-around presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength. Join me, everyone! Trust only in God every moment! Tell him all your troubles and pour out your heart-longings to him. Believe me when I tell you—he will help you! Pause in his presence."

Reflect (Meditatio)

Read the scripture again. Allow the word or phrase, that caught your attention earlier, to spark your imagination. Savor the word or phrase with all of your senses. Notice what smells, sounds, tastes, sights, and feelings are evoked. Listen for what images, feelings, and memories are stirring, welcome them in.

Respond (Oratio)

Read the scripture again. Considering the same word or phrase, what has it evoked in your senses and imagination? What is God calling you to do?

Psalms 62:6-8 TPT - "For he alone is my safe place. His wrap-around presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me? God’s glory is all around me! His wrap-around presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength. Join me, everyone! Trust only in God every moment! Tell him all your troubles and pour out your heart-longings to him. Believe me when I tell you—he will help you! Pause in his presence."

Rest (Contemplatio)

Read the scripture once more. Allow your heart to fill with gratitude for God’s presence. Slow your thoughts and sink into the stillness. Rest in the presence of God, and allow yourself to simply be.

Prayer

Father, I pray that as your word penetrates my heart and my mind, I will rest in your presence. I pray that I will put my trust in you and cry out to you in times of trouble. Let this truth empower and encourage me always. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

Day 4

About this Plan

Living Changed: Lectio Divina

Living changed is both a choice and a process. Throughout the next 5-days, join Changed Women's Ministries as we read, meditate, respond, and rest in our knowledge of God and His Word and what it says about identity, anxiety, fear, difficult times. The more we know and understand His Word, the more we truly begin living changed.
