A DISCOURAGED HEART
Good salt is determined by its purity. When we take salt from the sea it's rare for us to get pure salt, because it is usually mixed with other ingredients, including mud. If the salt losses its saltiness, it becomes useless for nothing more than to be thrown and trampled on the ground.
A discouraged heart causes a person to become weak and heavy with despair. Proverbs 24:10 says if you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
After Moses died, Joshua received a very difficult task to replace him as leader of the Israelites. Who would not be troubled to accept this task, especially after he saw the stubbornness of the Israelites when he was serving as Moses’ servant? Joshua hesitated; he was disheartened. That was why the Lord commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous! This message was delivered 4 times!
If you are currently in a difficult situation, all doors seem closed, or there is no way out in front of you, learn from the story of Joshua. Keep saying the Lord’s message: Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:8). By always speaking and acting carefully according to God’s Word, our life's journey will be blessed.
A great crisis produces great people. After a great difficulty there will be a great victory.
