WHY DO WE DOUBT?
"Christ never failed to distinguish between doubt and unbelief. Doubt is can't believe. Unbelief is won't believe. Doubt is honesty. Unbelief is obstinacy. Doubt is looking for light. Unbelief is content with darkness." Henry Drummond
PRAY: Dear Lord, as I start my week focusing on doubt, I want You to fill me up with peace and trust in You so that I do not question You, Your words, Your truths, and Your love. You told the disciples not to doubt. You knew that they were troubled by seeing You and You even had them touch You to show how real You are. Would You help me to KNOW, without a doubt, that You are real, powerful, all-loving, and the only one in whom I should put all of my trust? Thank you for proving Yourself to the disciples so that I don't have to doubt. I pray this in Your holy name, AMEN.
REFLECT: Do you ever question why you would doubt Jesus, His truths, His power, or His unconditionally loving devotion to you? Look at the definition of doubt: "To waver or fluctuate in opinion; to hesitate; to be in suspense; to be in uncertainty; to be undetermined." God tells us and proves to us over and over again all throughout the Bible that He is the Creator, all-loving, our help and salvation, a fortress in times of trouble, and then He specifically tells us not to doubt His existence. And yet we do doubt! What do you think it would take for you to stop doubting God the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit? Would you need to physically touch Him? Read through these verses again and ask God Himself to show you how you can get rid of your doubt.
ACT: What are TWO areas of your faith where you find yourself doubting God's love, provision, or presence? Is it in your finances? When you're alone in the dark? When you have a deadline that you're sure you can't make? Is it when you're sick, lonely, or angry? Choose the two most prominent areas of doubt and write them down on an index card. Then write this verse on the same card and as you memorize the verse, pray that the Lord takes control of those two areas so that you won't doubt anymore. When you believe the Lord's presence and promises have replaced those two areas of doubt, then define two more and start again. Face your doubts - one at a time - and allow the Lord to heal you or help you manage them, once and for all!

About this Plan
I think one of the greatest plights of man is this phrase: “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” We believe God completely in some circumstances and then we doubt Him a moment later by getting fearful, angry, or discouraged. This week we’re going to dig into doubt and ask the Lord to grow our faith so that we can move mountains!
