Joy: 37-Day DevotionalSample

When asked the question, “Is anything too hard for God?”, the obvious answer is, "Of course not." After all, He is the Creator of this world. But when we face something in our life that seems impossible, do we really believe that nothing is too hard for our God?
I would have answered this question like most good, church-going Christians: no, nothing is too hard for God. But when put to the test of trusting Him and His timing, I would fail miserably. I'd go back to Him to ask for His forgiveness for not really believing that He had the answer and His timing was perfect. That is, until one Friday in January.
My husband and I run a non-profit organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. With the help of volunteers, we build beds for children who do not have them and then deliver them to the kids. Earlier this year, someone broke into the storage building where we had all our tools and bedding that different organizations had donated to us and stole almost all of it. This was especially bad because we had a build-day coming up the next weekend, and we had no tools to use! My husband was going to be out of town for work the week leading up to the build and had no time to deal with getting all new tools. But nothing is too hard for God! We watched God show up and show out. Not only did God provide all the tools we had lost because of the donations of various people and businesses, but He also provided more than we could have imagined. Within that week, we had better tools and even more than we had to begin with. NOTHING is too hard for God!
Dear God, please forgive me for the times I think I can take care of things myself and forget just who You really are…. How powerful You are and nothing is too hard for You. Thank You for reminding me that You are good and Your timing is best. Amen.
