Love God Greatly - Names of God Part 1: Through Thanksgiving & ChristmasSample

God is our God of peace and has made us complete through His power and the blood of Jesus Christ. God’s power transforms broken people into complete holy saints. When He rescues, He snatches us with His mighty hand from the talons of rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness that threaten to swallow us. When He defends, the Truth is catapulted to the skies for all to see while our enemies laying bleeding in its wake. When He loves it is a consuming, perpetual, unbroken, relentless love that never depends on the one receiving His love. Once again, we see the Lord carrying out His plan for us from the beginning. A believer’s peace, confidence, assurance, hope, and stability can stand on the fact that God did the hardest thing. He sacrificed His Son to become one with His enemies. So now that we are God’s friends, God’s family, what will He not do for us! Will He not love us? Will He not comfort us? Will He not provide for us? Will He not take care of us? Will He not rescue and deliver us? Will He not carry our burdens? He saved our very lives and souls from the depths of hell while we actively opposed Him. How much more now will He do for us, His family, His own special people. We serve the God of the impossible who desires to do the impossible in the lives of those He loves. Will we believe that fact and allow Him to love hard on us?
In what circumstance do you need to experience God’s peace? In what areas of your life are you feeling incomplete? In what situation are you doubting the power of Jesus’ blood to create an everlasting covenant of peace with God?
Father God, I thank You for loving me out of the darkness and making me whole again. I thank You for gifting me with Your peace and Your love. Lord, help me to totally rely on You, trust You completely, and surrender all of my problems and my pain to You… knowing that You love me extravagantly. In Jesus’ name. Amen

About this Plan

When it comes to the names of God it is important to recognize that we do not name God. He names himself. This is important because it shows that there is something specific he wants to reveal about himself in his names. He transcends time and space. He is exalted above all things and is incomprehensible. And yet he has condescended to make himself known to us in ways that we can understand. He has given himself names to help us see his character.
