Faith Over Fear

DAY 5 OF 5

The Promise of Victory

David is mostly known for his closeness with God. In the verses we read today, David proclaimed His faith to El Shaddai, God almighty, for there is nothing that God can’t do.

El Shaddai is able to make your paths straight when you trust Him with all your heart. Trust means ‘firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something’ and only we and God can tell whether or not we fully trust in His goodness, faithfulness, and power. We also need to wholeheartedly lean on Him and not on our own understanding, as well as inviting Him into every aspect of our lives.

This is the time for us to draw closer to Him personally, when we are unable to gather with other believers physically. At times like this, the strength of our knowledge, faith, dependency, and personal life is truly tested.

Our victory doesn’t lie in our own strength and might, but in knowing that the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love. God is the one who will deliver our soul from death and keep it alive during famine. God is our help and our shield, in Him our hearts rejoice.

I pray Hezekiah’s prayer that is written in 2 Chronicles 30:18b-20 for you that says, “May the Lord, who is good, pardon everyone who sets their heart on seeking God—the Lord, the God of their ancestors—even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary.” God then heard Hezekiah and healed the people.

May unfailing love of God be upon us all as we put our trust in Him. In the name of Jesus, amen.
