DriftingSample
SCRIPTURE
Hey, you’re here reading this Bible Reading Plan right now…great job! Seriously, it’s so easy to drift away from spending time in God’s Word, so the fact that you’re even here right now shows your sincere desire to pursue God and stay anchored to him. Because let’s face it, carving out time every day to sit down somewhere quiet and read a few passages from an ancient and sometimes confusing book takes discipline…it’s not easy! Actually, if most of us are honest (myself included), sitting down and reading anything in a world of screens and binge-worthy shows on every possible platform can be really difficult.
But here’s why what you’re doing right now is so key to not drifting: God’s word doesn’t change…ever! Opinions change all the time. What’s considered right or wrong is a constantly moving target in our culture. Even our own feelings can be extremely unreliable. This is why having an anchor – a truth that never changes – is so necessary to living the life of a Christ-Centered Difference Maker. When you face confusion, pain, worry, or just about anything else in life, God has given you an incredible gift in this collection of books you hold in your hand. You can know (not guess) what God thinks, what he wants for your life, and how you should respond to whatever you’re facing. So, read these passages and thank God for making his truth so readily available to you. Then, if you’re currently in the middle of a difficult season, spend a little time searching for Biblical truth that can help you know what to do. If you get stuck, reach out to a coach or pastor who can help point you in the right direction.

About this Plan
We all have a tendency to drift. Like boats on the water, if we aren’t anchored to something, we’ll slowly drift off course. When it comes to our relationships with God and with others, there’s a constant pull to go off-course, to wander into apathy and isolation, and to drift away until we find ourselves miles from where we wanted to be.
