Get the Double Portion
What is your one request?
Elisha’s one request from Elijah was for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. I love this attitude! After everything that Elisha has been through and while showing that faith has an action through his journey to become the man of God, Elisha requests to have a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. Double the blessing, double the power, and double the relationship.
This reminds me of the story of Solomon (2 Chronicles 1:7-12) when God asks what he wants, and Solomon replies that he wants wisdom to lead God’s people. Find a desire in your heart for the things of God. Do you dream about doing amazing things for God, or for money, cars, and houses?
As you seek God, make Him your number one priority, put action to your faith, don’t allow hurt to get in your way, learn and leave the past in the past, and you will get that double portion.
