A Compelling Truth: A 30 Day Journey through Galatians with Rob StanmoreSample

DAY 25
What does being humble look like?
Is it like Kendrick’s Humble? Or is it like Mary Magdelene?
C.S. Lewis sums up humility when writes, “Humility isn’t thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.”
However, pride attempts to use comparison to either help us feel better or worse about ourselves by looking at others.
When Paul is describing humility in Chapter 6, he is revealing what living by grace looks in community.
It is balanced with “carry each others burdens” and also with testing our own actions.
Humility thrives in community when we have the conviction that we are better together.
Humility is best found in our ability to walk the seasons with those around us, without judgement or prejudice. In the same way, there are times where we may need to receive it.
