Day 14: Speak Life

“Son of man, can these bones live?... Prophesy over these bones and say to them… ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.” Ezekiel 37:3-5

God cares about life. And God cares about the life of a nation. When the people of Israel feel dead and dried up with very little hope, God sends a vision to His prophet Ezekiel to prophesy life over the nation. God’s heart for the nation is restoration, unity and a foundation for the Messianic kingdom. He refuses to leave the nation in death. 

As we align our hearts with God’s heart, can we cry out for our nations, repenting for sins that have led to death and our demise? Can we prophesy life and agree with God that He can breathe life into our nations again? Can we ask for restoration, unity and His kingdom come? As we remember to plan our Sabbath this week, can we accept rest as part of life, lay down work for income one day per week and spend time with God, family and community? 

PRAYER

Lord, You love to bring life out of dead situations. You love to breathe life into broken bodies and souls. Please speak Your Word over our nations and call us into Your kingdom. Please forgive us for every senseless death on our soil, especially those born from racism. Please heal our nation from the inside out, starting with us. Please teach us how to rest in You and cover us under the shadow of Your wings, in Jesus’s Name, Amen.
