Jesus is Everything

When we say yes to Jesus as the Lord of our life, a new spirit is formed in us and everything we were before dies. Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Ephesians that this is one of the greatest mysteries of our faith. To me, it's not just a mystery, it’s…crazy! The good kind of crazy. The death of our old life means we stop doing things our way to make room for God's will to take the lead. 

A true Christian says, “Not that I live, but Christ in me. This is the only way our Christianity works because Christ has to be able to transform us for the destiny that God designed. The new creation that salvation promises us is to cause us to be like Christ, to become Him in our world (1 John 4:17) We are doing all of this—prayer, reading our word, worship, walking out our faith—to become more like Christ. 

We have an inheritance, incredible blessings, and an eternal place in God’s world because that is what God promised to Jesus and we are in Him! Because we belong to Christ, we get to inherit His promises (Ephesians 1:3-6). This Christian walk is about Jesus, for Jesus, and with Jesus.

Are there any areas where I could give God more room to direct me? In your heart, determine to let Jesus lead. You’ll always have our own ideas, but what God is doing in you needs to be the most important thing.
