I Depend on His Love

What determines your value? Have you ever found yourself thinking you are not worth much?

Perhaps from some experience in your past you think your value as a person or as a son or daughter of God is diminished. Or perhaps you depend on the love of others to find your value.

One of the revelations I have had in my life was knowing that my value is in the love of God. I do not depend on my wife's love, because that love does not complete me. Why? Because God did not design her to complete me, but to walk beside me. I depend on God's love.

When this is not so and we depend on the love of other human beings, we get involved in relationships that we shouldn't be in. We look to men or women for that which we can only find in God. When looking for affirmation, love, and affection you may find yourself skipping from relationship to relationship, because you look to people for what only God can give you.

If we do not depend on His love, we cannot love others.

Perhaps today you feel sad because you believe that a mistake you made separates you from God's love. Perhaps you believe that you are not good enough to be loved by Him. But how good it is to know that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that can separate us from the love of God? The Bible says that His love keeps us strong. It says that love is patient and kind, that it does not get angry easily, and that it rejoices with righteousness. God's love never ends!
