Qualities Of An Entrepreneur – Entrepreneurial Mentors
The Young Entrepreneurs Study, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, studied 5,000 young people to determine what qualities were typically present in budding entrepreneurs. They discovered four key traits, including Innovative Thinking, Self-Control, Initiative and Entrepreneurial Mentors.
The fourth trait we want to discuss is Entrepreneurial Mentors. Forty-five percent of the aspiring entrepreneurs in this study had a parent who had also started a business. Many of the other participants who aspired to be business owners knew family members or friends who were entrepreneurs.
Proverbs 15:22 teaches, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
If you desire to start your own business, and you haven’t been exposed to business ownership personally, find an entrepreneurial mentor long before your launch. Role models and mentors are critical for your success.
