God crowns his creation by making man. He even gives them the ability to reproduce humanity within themselves. Gud could have given fertility in any form but chooses to do so through the strongest form of intimacy. An interaction where both man and woman are equally needed and he blesses their fruitfulness.

A Biblical view of sex consists of three parts. The uniting of two individuals, reproduction and pleasure. Too often Christians have only emphasized the first two and barely dared to talk about the pleasure sex is meant to give. Perhaps that has contributed to the sexual revolution that struck in full force during the sixties. It has come to completely occupy the view of sex in western society today where pleasure alone is right, left and center. The dissolving of faithful, sustainable relations as the habitation for sex has taken away the aspect of two persons joining together. Other measures has been taken to eliminate the ”threat” of unwanted pregnancy. Finally humanity can fully indulge in the desires of the flesh! In our days something is shifting. Even secular voices are being raised questioning these ideals considering the consequences it has brought in form of sexual wounds.

Our origin makes clear that sex is God's idea. With all due respect we ought to turn to him to find out how it can become all he intended.
