Now With Natalie: Identity Sample

As You Are
Whether as a result of choices we’ve made or circumstances thrust upon us or a mixture of both, everybody is looking for freedom on some level.
Life on earth is complex, and a lot of grey area exists as we walk things out.
Temporary fixes and coping mechanisms can become our go-to in times of stress and pain. But to step into the fullness of life God has for us, we’ll need to let go of some things. The true freedom we long for can only come through relationship with Jesus. And the first step is as simple as it is challenging to walk out — approaching God as you are.
All too often, our view of God becomes warped due to our interactions with other people. But we have to remember and realize that He is God. He is good. He’s a loving heavenly Father. And, like the father of the prodigal son, He’s waiting for us with arms wide open, ready to welcome us home and shower us with blessing.
Personal Reflection
In your journey to freedom, what coping mechanisms have you used, maybe unknowingly, to seek temporary relief? Why? What was the base desire you were trying to satisfy? Now take that to God. Ask Him to meet that need and heal your shame.

About this Plan

Culture often dictates that our worth, path, and identity are determined by our race, gender, the things we’ve done, and the things that have been done to us. Over the next 30 days, we will discover what it looks like to be bold, transparent, and confront our shame.
