Now With Natalie: Identity Sample

Propelled Forward
Before we move on from the topic of courage, I want to encourage you in one more thing: Keep moving forward.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13–14, But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (ESV).
Paul made his fair share of mistakes, persecuting and killing Christians to name a couple, before his encounter with Jesus on the Damascus road. If shame could have held back anyone, Paul would’ve been that person. Yet, saved by Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit, he “strained forward” to his calling.
You and I have the opportunity to follow his example today—to live as forgiven sons and daughters of our heavenly Father and move forward in His love, grace and courage.
Personal Reflection
Have you felt held back by shame or regret? What is God calling you toward today?

About this Plan

Culture often dictates that our worth, path, and identity are determined by our race, gender, the things we’ve done, and the things that have been done to us. Over the next 30 days, we will discover what it looks like to be bold, transparent, and confront our shame.
