Christmas in 3 ActsSample

Experience
If you are able, take two short walks today, one with a full and heavy backpack (it can be filled with bags of sugar, flour, or shoes), and a second walk with the same backpack empty. How did the difference feel? How does this experience mirror how you live?
Practice
How could you create an Advent practice that enacts the promise of these verses (28-30)? Could you take the time to write out your tensions and anxieties on separate pieces of paper and then throw out or burn them? Or perhaps write those feelings on your hands and then wash them off?
Question
How am I going to surrender my anxieties, tragedies, and circumstances so I might experience the fullness of God’s rest this season?
Prayer
I choose to surrender all my circumstances to You, even when I’m experiencing tragedy.

About this Plan

In this Advent Infinitum Series, we will be using the themes of Tragedy, Comedy and Fairytale. They will act as doorways into a deeper understanding of surrender, generosity, and mission. Each theme lasts 7 days. The first day will be an introduction. Days 2 to 6 will give you a reading, an experience, a practice, a question, and a prayer. Day 7 is Sabbath, consolidation, review, and recollection.
