Stand Out: Living for Christ in a Corrupt WorldSample

Reward or Loss?
3:1-17: In 3:1-9, Paul talks about the divisions within the Corinthian church. Then, in verses 10-17, he talks about the importance of working for the Lord in the right manner. He writes that on payday, the right kind of work will be rewarded and the wrong kind will be destroyed.
Many people are happy in the first week of every month because they receive their salaries. As a month comes to a close, they eagerly look forward to the payday. We too must eagerly look forward to the payday (the second coming of Christ) when Christ will reward his people for their holy lives and faithful service.
On the day of judgment, the quality of our work will be revealed. Our doctrine and life represent the quality of our work. Doctrine and life that is according to God's ways will be rewarded. But those Christians whose teaching and life are not in line with God’s Word will lose their rewards. The subject of rewards must motivate us to live holy lives and to serve him faithfully. Let's serve God diligently!
Prayer: Dear Father, may my life and service be acceptable in your sight.
