Raising Kingdom Builders

DAY 4 OF 7

4) Knowing Biblical Love

The idea of love is something that our entire world is familiar with in some capacity, but how does God intend for us to show love to one another? Paul pretty clearly lays out what Christ-like love is supposed to look like for us. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul tells us, “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Do you want to teach your children how to show biblical love every day of their lives? Encourage your child to reread the passage aloud and, this time, substitute their name in the place of “love.” What does Paul say we are?

Throughout this entire process, it is important to remind your children that the way God describes love, especially in this passage, is not the love they will most commonly see in the world. God’s love is unconditional, meaning that no matter what someone does to me, I am going to show love to them.

This concept goes hand-in-hand with tomorrow’s lesson on building others up. Take some time today to talk with your children about this most-important learning curve of love. As you continue to raise Kingdom builders, allow God to open their eyes to loving the way He desires.

Day 3Day 5

About this Plan

Raising Kingdom Builders

There is a difference between simply raising your children, and raising your children to be kingdom builders. This 7-day plan is geared toward parents who desire to see their children build the Kingdom of God.
