Money and the Bible | Personal Finances From the Perspective of God

DAY 9 OF 10

MANAGING ABUNDANCE

God created us to have a life of abundance. Automatically, when we hear this we relate it to financial volume, to a life with a lot of resources. But is it really like that?

First, we need to understand that abundance is not only about money - but here, we will focus on the financial issue. Second, not everyone will be rich. An abundant life is not related to having many material goods, properties, and riches. We see this in the Biblical parable of talents, where there is a relationship of different amounts of monetary units used at the time. God allows some to have more riches than others, but all can have abundance.

The concept of abundance is superior to what is necessary, and we need to understand that people have different needs. So what is indispensable to us?

If we consider that our income is composed of the sum of needs and desires, abundance is fulfilling our desires. God wants to fulfill the desires of our hearts. Have you fulfilled your wishes? If so, you have plenty, regardless of being rich or poor.

That's right, the poor can have plenty. Proverbs 13:23 NIV says that "an unplowed field produces food for the poor but injustice sweeps it all away." He has abundance, but he does not enjoy abundance.

Enjoying abundance is a consequence of acting with stewardship. This requires a change of mentality, having attitudes of planning, proactivity, contentment, and fidelity. Start taking different actions today. Tomorrow's results are the consequence of what we plant today, of the seeds we release in day-to-day life. Our actions in the present reflect what we will have in the future, so do not give up on your goals, do not give up your dreams - God has a glorious plan of abundant life for you here on earth.

APPLICATION

What attitudes do you use to enjoy the abundance? Make a self-assessment of every attitude and whether that has been a truth in your life.

About this Plan

Money and the Bible | Personal Finances From the Perspective of God

Often, the concept and application we have about finance are based on the circumstances and environment we live in, added to our beliefs, culture, and education about money. However, this view may be wrong; not even all certitude is truth. Our flesh perspective is different from God's. Knowing the way God sees finances often requires a change in the financial mindset.
