The Essential 100Sample

THE SUFFERING SERVANT
PRAY Lord, it’s amazing to me how rich the Bible is with the story of Your wonderful work in the world.
READ Isaiah 51–53
REFLECT There is both “bad news” and “good news” in this passage. What is the bad news and the reason for it? What foreshadowing of “good news” do you see?
APPLY Compare these verses with what you know about how Jesus suffered. Note the striking similarities. Thank God for the Good News that resulted from that suffering.
PRAY Good God, thank You that Jesus suffered for my sins so that I could be free of their penalty.
