Don't Drift Through LifeSample
Be Anchored on Purpose: Don’t Be a Passive Observer
All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. Hebrews 11:13 NLT
Don't be a passive observer to the same thing God has empowered you to do. Don’t make yourself a stranger in your own place of inheritance. God's will for your life is to take the lead role in your area of calling, not sitting back spectating and criticizing others; none of us has much time for that. You are not a restless wanderer just passing time here on earth. You are not on standby waiting to be called home to heaven. No! You have a mission; you have a purpose, and God has a place for you.
God said to Cain after killing Abel in Genesis 4:10-12, “...You will be a restless wanderer..." that’s worse than death because from there on Cain has nothing else to live for, no one should go through life wandering. Ephesians 2:6 says that you are seated with Christ in heavenly places. You are a holy nation and a royal priesthood. Live your life by design, not by default. Don’t drift with the current, don’t coast, don’t flock, don’t take the back seat of life, arise and take your place. God’s intention for your life is to go through it with a clear sense of purpose and direction.
Don’t live things to fate, don’t say "what will be will be", no, it is what you make it be that will be. You have a say, and you have a role in becoming who God has destined you to be. Pursue your God-given dream. You may at different stage improvise on methods, but don’t drift from the objective and your calling. Others will find clarity in their life through your own groundedness. God has equipped you with all the resources you need, both financial and human, and at different stages of His plan for you, they will unfold, but you need to step out. You need to heed the call.
You are created for influence and significance, to make a difference, and to leave a mark. Anything less than that is sub-optimal is to your existence. You have the gifts and the talents. The power of God is active and alive in you. It is your time to rise. It is time to awaken the sleeping giant within you. It is not the time to stay quiet and passively observe others as they live their calling; this is your time.
Mordecai said to Esther, "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place...And who knows if perhaps you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Don't be afraid to be seen, and don’t be afraid to be heard. Stop thinking about what you think others are thinking; you don't need people's approval; you only need their encouragement. Don’t passively observe, be actively involved in your calling and purpose.

About this Plan
When a boat is not anchored, it drifts with the current. None of us should go through life wandering. Did you know that a journey of eleven days took the Israelites 40 years to complete? This devotional will help you understand how to live a life anchored on God and His promises.
