Clothe Yourself
We are Jesus’s disciples, ‘his chosen people.’ The definition of a disciple is ‘a follower or pupil of a teacher, leader, or philosopher.’ Therefore, as Christians, we are followers of Jesus. He is our leader and teacher, the one we imitate.
Jesus clothed himself with these qualities of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
‘Clothe yourselves’ implies that we should choose to wear these qualities every day. Our clothes are visible, and like them, the qualities of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience’ should be evident through how we treat others. The more time we spend with Jesus, the more like him we become. As God’s chosen people, we should treat people the way Jesus did- and choose to embody these qualities.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank you for your example. Thank you for being so full of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience towards us, help us to be like you to those around us today, Amen.

About this Plan

Fruit Bowl is a 9-week deep dive into the Fruit of the Spirit put together by the Naujavan community. Jesus said, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit is the result of spending quality time with God, allowing Him to shape and form us.” We hope this devotional encourages you to do just that.
