Walk Through The Bible 365 - MaySample

Self-made? Really?
We hear a lot about self-motivation, personal achievement and "self-made men." The psalmist, however, puts another spin on it. He knows it is the Lord who gives men the brains and energy and opportunities to pursue their dreams; it is the Lord who can change a prisoner to a prime minister, a shepherd to a king.
Prayer: Father God, just when pride and arrogance slip into my life, you have a way of bringing me back to reality. I acknowledge today that all my skills, strength, abilities and success are because of you. Without you, I am nothing. May I live my life today recognising your lordship over every aspect of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
