WILL THIS BE EASY?

Now, you may well ask, will this be easy? The answer is, no. But will you survive, flourish, and overcome? The answer is absolutely, yes! Our faith in Christ will often be tested through various difficulties and trials. Your perspective will determine what these trials produce. If you only see the trial, you will miss the perseverance it’s producing and if you only see the difficulties, you will miss the patience it’s creating. 

So, let patience have its perfect work that you may be complete, lacking nothing. Let perseverance temper your life so that resilience, tenacity, and longevity will be formed in you. We live in a society addicted to instant gratification. We want the destination without the journey, the degree without the study, fitness without pain, and success without failure. This is not kingdom living. There are no short cuts or detours, we cannot go around it, we must go through it. 

The enigma of Christianity is that in our weakness He is made strong. This may contradict your natural thinking. You may be accustomed to projecting strength while struggling internally. Your new relationship with Jesus allows you to come to Him with your burdens. He is more than able to carry you and give you peace through every trial. 

The exchanging of burdens will be your victory. Your burden may be heavy, and that’s ok, they often are. As you learn to walk in this new way, you will learn to cast your cares upon Him, and in turn, you will understand His heart and what He carries.  

So, enjoy the journey for the joy of the Lord will be your strength. You will run and not grow weary, you will walk and will not faint for the Lord will go before you, beside you, and all around you. 

PRAYER

Lord, I cast all my cares upon you because I know that you care for me. You are a strong and mighty tower and I confidently run into your name. You are my very present help in times of trouble, and I chose to lean on you. Amen.
