Fearless in Battle Sample

Prayer is the vehicle and faith the fuel.

Mathew 21:22 says, “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

When we ask anything “according to His will, He hears us and if we know he hears us whatever we ask we will receive it.” (1 John 5:14)

Fear usually keeps us from praying. If we do pray, it’s usually as a last resort. We focus more on our problem than on the character of God.

Prayer, however, is the vehicle for your breakthrough. But a vehicle without fuel is pointless. Prayer needs the fuel of faith. Unbelieving prayer may not be prayer at all.

Scripture tells us that we will receive what we ask for in faith, if it’s in accordance to God’s will.

Throughout Scripture, we see examples of miracles preceded by faith-filled prayer. In today’s Bible reading, we see that Jesus prayed before He asked Lazarus to come out of the tomb. In Matthew 14, Jesus took the five loaves and two fish and prayed over the offering - and it multiplied. When Peter healed the lame man in Acts 3, he first prayed “in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.”

When our daughter Jenita was in battle after battle in her fight against cancer, my wife and I spent a lot of time on our knees. We cried out to God for healing. We pounded on the doors of heaven. Yes, ultimately, we submitted our will to His. But, I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that we have a prayer-hearing and prayer-answering God who responds to our faith.

Through our journey, we learned that faith sees the possible in the midst of the impossible; it recognises the supernatural and ignores the natural; faith perseveres in hope, laughs at the logical and ushers in miracles.
