Relationships According to the Book of Ruth Sample

DAY 13: Culture is Essential.
Let’s talk about culture.
There is beauty in diversity and uniqueness in each culture and tribe. People identify culture as part of shaping who they are and what they believe.
When it comes to relationships, culture plays a pivotal role in revealing what we value.
When Ruth decided to stay with her mother-in-law, she not only decided to follow her wherever she would go, but she was submitting herself to Naomi's culture, values, and beliefs.
Ruth came from a tribe called the Moabites, who have a history of rebellion and opposition to the God of the Israelites. God redeemed her from that tribe to a woman who would be fitting to add to the bloodline of Christ. When we are in a relationship with God, we choose to engage and be a part of His culture, to value what He values.
