Modesty, Purity, and Honoring God With Your Body.Sample

Biblical Definitions
Modesty according to 1 Timothy 2:9-10,15 and 1 Peter 3:3-5 – “Ornament that is honorable, reflects proper reverence, holy, piety, does not attract improper attention, does not cause lasciviousness in others, is not revealing, vain, or degrades others.”
Purity according to 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 and 1 Corinthians 6:18 - Purity is often used in Scripture as a means to communicate holiness or perfection. Purity is closely related to holiness, and those who walk in holiness will keep themselves sexually pure: abstinent before marriage and monogamous within marriage.
Modesty and Purity are very important to God, and for this reason should also be important to us. Modesty and purity further us and those around us, to walk in holiness and live honorably before God.
Be careful what society deems to be “normal,” and do not fall for the lies of the world, that others falling into temptation and sin is not your responsibility.
While each person is accountable to God for themselves, we are not to be stumbling blocks against our brothers and sisters. Romans 14:13 says, “So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.” Our body is not our own, and it belongs to God and God alone.
