The Heart of a Praying MotherSample

The Heart of a Praying Mother

DAY 7 OF 7

Day 7: I pray that my kids love as God loves; God is love.

Scripture: John 5:12-13, My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”

1 John 14:16, God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Prayer: My children will love like God loves and show love to all.

This is the most important prayer I can pray for my children because God is LOVE. Our biggest failures as parents can become the greatest opportunities to illustrate genuine faith to our kids. When we admit our wrongs and allow our kids to see our humanity, to see how we mess up just like anyone else, it catches their attention. It shows genuine love. It allows us to set a biblical example of humility, love, and forgiveness for them to follow.

Father God, help me embrace Your Word. But most of all, help me to live it. Help me be the kind of mother who will inspire my children to please You because that’s what they see being lived out in my life. I have so many mistakes as a parent and sometimes it seems that the love for my children is not there. Father, teach my children how to love as you do and that love will come alive in everyone's life that they touch, including mine, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I Love You, Keon (1st born), Rahzay (2nd born), Emmanuel (3rd born) Jacquise (4th born), Leandre' (5th born) Israel (6th born), Elisha(7th born and only girl), and Eli(8th born).
