Pray For Your Baby - Day 8
Pregnancy Prayer — Pride/Confidence
My Lord Jesus,
Thank You for dying on the cross so that we may live with You in heaven forever. Thank you that You shed Your blood for us on that special day. In accordance with Your Word, I pray that my child will always remember that it is “Not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit.” Jesus, I ask You today not to allow pride to become a part of my child’s life. Help my child to always be humble with the gifts that You have blessed him or her with and to use them only for Your kingdom and Your Glory. And let me lead by example. I command all pride to leave our family, right now, in the name of Jesus.
Holy One, You are my child’s strength. Help him or her to be confident as a child of God and to remember that pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall. Help me to teach my child to be meek and exhibit self-control, and please forgive me, Lord, when I have been prideful and over-confident. Allow my child’s confidence to come from You and not from his or her own doing. Give my child faith to believe that he or she can do all things because You give him or her strength.
Teach my child not to be prideful, but instead fill him or her with a healthy spiritual confidence. Help me to build him or her up in a loving manner and to speak truth over my baby’s life. You say that in our pride, the wicked man does not seek you, and in all his thoughts, there is no room for God. Allow my baby to confidently seek You with every question he or she might have. Let my child say, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
Jesus, I pray that my child will always be content, humble, and exhibit self-control.
Amen
